Course description
An iconic middle-distance triathlon in the Allgäu, held since 1983 around Immenstadt and the Großer Alpsee lake. Famous for its rugged mountain backdrop, ringing cowbells along the course and punchy climbs such as the Kalvarienberg — a classic with a warm, rustic alpine atmosphere.
Coach tip
- The Kuhsteig is extremely steep — shift into an easy gear early and get out of the saddle if needed. Hold steady power on the rolling bike course rather than burning matches. Enjoy the cult atmosphere and crowds on the climbs; it carries you through the hard kilometres.
