Course description
A long-standing long-distance classic (since 1988) at Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland. The swim takes place in the shallow, warm steppe lake, while the bike and run are laid out as flat laps. A genuine PB course in calm conditions — but the notorious wind often makes the race brutally hard.
Coach tip
- Very wind-prone — practise your aero position and budget for headwind sections on the flat bike laps. The shallow lake suits a water start; deep water comes only late. On a calm day a PB is on; otherwise ride evenly rather than fighting the gusts.
