Course description
A mystical, rugged extreme triathlon in the Scottish Highlands around Shieldaig. The swim is in a freezing sea loch, followed by a wind-battered bike leg of over 200 km and a high-mountain run across scree and rock. Breathtaking scenery meets utterly unforgiving weather.
Coach tip
- The swim is notorious for jellyfish and freezing cold – protect your face with Vaseline.
- The bike course is 202 km long and extremely exhausting due to relentless winds.
- The mountain run features highly technical terrain (scree and wet rocks). Wear trail shoes with excellent grip.
