Course description
Europe's oldest long-distance triathlon and the only course in the world below sea level, on the reclaimed bed of the former Zuiderzee. Dead-straight dike roads make it flat and fast — but here the wind is the real opponent. The run circles the Weerwater lake in Almere.
Coach tip
- Flat and fast yet brutally honest: on the endless straights your aero position decides everything. Hold it even when your back screams, and ration your effort carefully into any headwind. Mentally tough — break the bike laps into segments and keep a steady rhythm.
