Course description
A city marathon through Dresden's baroque old town along the Elbe — past the Semperoper, Frauenkirche and Brühl's Terrace and through the Großer Garten park. A loop through Blasewitz reveals the Loschwitz hillside castles, while over 300 bands line the route to the stadium finish.
Coach tip
- Mostly flat along the Elbe, with gentle rises around Loschwitz in the second half — save some energy for them. Enjoy the baroque backdrop and let the 300-plus bands carry you. Hold an even pace on the straight riverside sections all the way to the stadium finish.
