Course description
One of Germany's big four marathons, starting and finishing in the Olympic Park. The course runs past the Siegestor, through the English Garden by the Chinese Tower, through elegant Bogenhausen and across Marienplatz. Gently rolling, with a demanding, slightly uphill finish back to the park.
Coach tip
Gently rolling rather than pancake-flat — don't bank on a pure PB. The final kilometres climb slightly, so save energy for them and start in a controlled manner. Mind your start-corral placement to avoid congestion. The English Garden offers shade; use the bands along the way as a boost.
