Course description
An alpine trail marathon in Tyrol, part of the Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival. The K42 route covers around 43 km with roughly 2,400 metres of climbing, leading over mountain trails from Mutters via the Mutterer Alm and Axamer Lizum up to the Nordkette. Not a road marathon, but a true mountain race.
Coach tip
This is a trail marathon, not a road race — uphill training and grippy trail shoes are mandatory. Poles are permitted and highly recommended on the steep climbs. Mind the compulsory kit (rain jacket, warm layers), as high-mountain weather can change rapidly and turn cold within minutes.
