Course description
The German classic and European Championship with a skyline finish at the Römer. The swim is in the Langener Waldsee (with an Australian exit between laps), and the rolling two-loop bike rolls well but features punchy Taunus climbs ('The Beast'). The run is flat along the Main riverbank.
Coach tip
In the heat, the shadeless run along the Main becomes brutal — plan a consistent cooling strategy and drink early. On the bike, ride the rolling Taunus climbs evenly and don't over-pace them. Use the Australian exit during the swim for orientation and to settle into a calm rhythm.
