Course description
The world-famous fun marathon through the vineyards and châteaux of the Médoc near Pauillac. Instead of PBs, enjoyment and costumes are what count: wine is served at around 23 stops, with oysters at km 38 and steak at km 39. Over 50 orchestras line the course.
Coach tip
Don't run for a PB here — this is a celebration, and a costume is mandatory. Pace your wine, oysters and steak along the way so you don't overload. Allow plenty of time, soak up the atmosphere of the orchestras and châteaux, and drink enough water in between to stay comfortable.
