Course description
A middle distance in front of the excavators of Ferropolis, the "city of iron" in a former open-cast mine. The swim is 1.9 km in the Gremminer See without an exit, the bike covers a flat, well-surfaced 45 km loop twice, plus a 21 km run. The only German middle distance in May.
Coach tip
Flat and well surfaced means your bike split depends almost entirely on sustained output — a good place to execute a power target.
A late-May date demands open-water sessions in April; the lake is still cool then.
As the only German middle distance in May it works well as a form test ahead of a main race in summer.
