Course description
A single-loop spring marathon through Düsseldorf: from the start on the Joseph-Beuys-Ufer through the north past the trade fair and Nordpark, across the Oberkassel Bridge at around 13 km, back over the Rhine and through the Königsallee and MedienHafen to the finish on the Untere Rheinwerft. The organiser describes it as mostly flat and built for personal bests.
Coach tip
The course is flat enough for a PB: run the first half deliberately even and save something for the final ten kilometres.
Mid-April means your long runs fall in February and March — plan them to survive bad weather.
The two Rhine bridges bring a short rise and fall: hold your effort steady there rather than your pace, and take the seconds back on the way down.
