Course description
A major city marathon starting on the Reichsbrücke and finishing at the Burgtheater. The flat, fast course passes Schönbrunn, runs along the Ringstraße and through the Prater, where Eliud Kipchoge ran his sub-two-hour marathon. Only 44 metres of elevation difference — ideal for a PB.
Coach tip
The start on the bridge is often windy: run sheltered in a group there. The Prater section on the dead-straight Hauptallee feels mentally long: set yourself intermediate goals and stay in rhythm. Otherwise flat and fast — find a pace group early for a good time to the finish.
