Course description
A middle distance over 2.1 / 80 / 20 km in Lauingen on the Danube, held for the 21st time in 2027. The swim is in the Auwaldsee lake, three laps with a land exit. The fully closed bike course is an out-and-back between Lauingen and Weisingen, ridden four times for 20 km each. The run is four 5 km laps of a flat loop from the town centre along the Segre promenade by the Danube, finishing on the market square.
Coach tip
Two transition areas: T1 right at the Auwaldsee, T2 in the town centre. Bring your own bags for your kit, and collect your wetsuit from the lake yourself after the race. In 2026 race-morning check-in closed at 8 am at T2 and 8:30 am at T1, with the start at 9 am — plan the morning around both trips.
Four times the same 20 km lap with turnarounds: practise braking and accelerating out of the turns. There is an aid station every 20 km at the Auwaldsee turnaround, so plan your bottles for those stretches. In 2026 anyone still on the bike course at 1 pm was taken out of the results.
Four flat 5 km run laps with water and isotonic drinks at km 1 and km 4 of each lap. Without a DTU race licence you pay for a day licence on top of the entry fee (2026: €25). Registration closes on 6 June 2027 at 6 pm, or earlier if the field fills up.
